Charles Mingus - Town Hall Concert 1964 Vol. 1

Fakta Candid is proud to announce the next release in our ongoing partnership with Jazz Workshop, the great Town Hall Concert, 1964. Not to be confused with the notorious 1962 Town Hall show, THIS is the acknowledged classic featuring Mingus’ best-ever band and arguably the finest performance of Eric Dolphy’s career. With the full cooperation of Jazz Workshop—the label Mingus started and that continues to protect and enhance his legacy—Town Hall Concert is back in print, sounding better than it ever has thanks to the meticulous restoration work and an all-new master by multiple Grammy winner Michael Graves. The artwork has also been carefully restored to match the the package designed by Mingus’ son, complete with the original liner notes and poetry by Mingus himself.
